A social enterprise is an organisation that has meeting the needs of its community at its heart. As a social enterprise, a community group becomes less reliant on funding, instead supporting itself through trading, with profits ploughed back in to developing the business.
Social Enterprise Northumberland is helping these enterprises grow, and offering expert advice to people who want to set up new enterprises. Last year over 200 new and established social enterprises made the most of the free support and advice on offer.
