Enterprise Fairs

Reaction’s unique enterprise fairs give high school students an opportunity to find out what it means to be an entrepreneur. Our fairs have built up a successful track record over the past five years. They offer students the chance to put questions direct to half a dozen local business people such as

  • Why did you start your own business?
  • What was the biggest obstacle?
  • What keeps you going?

With the emphasis on new and micro businesses, small groups of students mix informally with owners who are in show and tell mode. Students are asked to consider what makes a successful entrepreneur and how they might measure up to the challenge. Feedback tells us that it’s not just students who enjoy the Fairs…businesses do too as they get to meet other local businesses.

Grow your ideas - be a young entrepreneur

This one day course is targeted at KS5 students, and consists of a series of short sessions with real life entrepreneurs, and workshops designed to increase creativity and entrepreneurial capacity.

reaction helps young people to

  • Find out what makes local entrepreneurs tick
  • Explore different ways of earning a living
  • Discover their enterprise talent

‘Reaction planned and prepared the day for us. We got the chance to speak to some real life entrepreneurs who had the experience of setting up their own business. They were easy to talk to as they were only in their twenties. We got to ask them about all aspects of their business life and it gave us an insight into what they did and gave us ideas for the future. All in all, the day was a huge success which provided an interesting insight into business life.’ - Warren Lumsden Berwick Community High School
